Frank Arkwright

In October 2005 Frank joined Metropolis Mastering after one year at Whitfield Street and twelve prolific years at the Townhouse.

Franks’s recent clients include: Arcade Fire, The Coral, Beth Gibbons, Belle and Sebastian, Katie Melua, The Stereophonics, The Killers, Bloc Party, Coldplay, Razorlight, The Dead 60’s, Nitin Sawhney, Feeder, Damien Rice, Fatboy Slim, Embrace, Hot Chip, The Kooks, Snow Patrol, The Charlatans, The Wombats, Armand Van Helden and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
International artists include: Renan Luce, Rosso and Whyte Seeds…

With his aspirations of rock stardom hindered by an inability to play guitar, Frank started working at Pink Floyd’s Britannia Row Studio in 1986. While tape operating and tape copying he developed an interest in mastering and digital editing in its early days.

After 3 years at Chop’em Out Studio he moved to the Townhouse, replacing Ian Cooper and Tony Cousins who had left to start Metropolis Mastering. At the Townhouse Frank began cutting vinyl as well as CD mastering. His love of music, technical expertise and undisputed skills led him to master many award-winning albums during his time there.
