Noel’s career in the music industry started at Trident Tape Services in 1974.
From there he joined Pye Studios as a tape op in 1976. Having taken some extended leave to travel in Asia and Australia, Noel started in the cutting rooms at Pye in 1980 where he stayed until 1989, during which time he cut albums by The Clash, The Waterboys, Sinead O’Connor and many of the hits of Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
After a year in the cutting room at Utopia Studios, in 1990 he went to work for Pete Waterman at Transfermation, where he mastered albums by artists as diverse as Aphex Twin and the Grammy nominated White Stripes.
In 2005 Noel joined Metropolis Mastering.

And for those of you who record and mix to tape, Noel will cut your vinyl and keep the process all analogue, using a Studer A80 with preview head, a Neumann disc cutting console and a modified Neumann VMS70 lathe.
