Phil Joannides
At the age of 14 he trained with the ‘Notting Hill School of Samba’ .In the same year he gained a work placement at Air Studios where he was initiated into orchestral studio recording, introduced to Foley Soundtrack & FX Dubbing techniques and got to grips with general studio life. Brainwashed and inspired he began to play as many instruments he could, acquiring a taste for the drums, piano, synthesizer and computer…
Producing music hooked him, and creating sounds became a passion. He sequenced samples, arranged, chopped, sliced, filtered and distorted anything he could get his hands on. Going to college, he received another dose of hands-on experience in live sound recording and learned the basics of sound as a technology. Learning software packages such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic and Reason, he earned qualifications including a degree in Music Technology . Phil now produces Electronica, House and Techno music (under the guise of Future Motions) clocking up an intense release schedule over the last few years. He signed to record labels in London, New York and across Europe gaining plays on radio stations such as Kiss FM, Proton and Ministy of Sound Radio. He is heavily involved with the remix scene remixing artists from all over the world.
Not content with focusing on audio for the commercial market he diversified into creating soundtracks for computer games. He has work on many games such as Crunchball 3000, Eridani and Async Racing which have accumulated in excess of 25 million plays. He has gone on to produce soundtracks for major TV networks.
Being brought up through the Metropolis ranks Phil has had un-parralleled training and mentoring from some of the worlds greatest mastering engineers, he has gained a wealth of experience and know-how. He is now a Mastering Engineer and has worked on records for a diverse selection of artists.
Phil’s clients include James Yuill, Aggro Santos, The Doves, Catherine AD, Miley Cyrus, Sonic Tramp, Corrine Bailey Rae, Sandy Denny and Status Quo. He has also edited songs for artists such as, Kylie, The Doves, Tiesto, Usher, Junkie XL and Spiritualized.
He has been busy joining the dots within the music industry to create proud partnerships with software developers and record labels.
